This was a commission for a family setting up a new apartment in the French Alps.
They are active, love skiing and all that their new home offers. Working with an interior designer this piece became a reference point for the sitting area. It reflects the tracks of the skis in the snow and provides a challenge to the designer to allow enough space for the movement of the wood in the very dry atmosphere of an alpine world.
Made from fumed Scottish oak and sycamore finished in silk lacquer.
